Is there a solution to this?Įdit: I've also tried deleting the references to smtp in keychain but it keeps returning.Įdit 2: It appears that it was an issue with keychain logged out of iCloud from all my devices deleted all the keychain (both local and login items including the invisible ones), rebooted into recovery, deleted all the temporary files in Library and a few other directories and rebooted back into desktop again and logged into iCloud. I originally thought maybe the setting had been saved in the cloud so I checked my iMac and removed it off that one as well, same situation occurred again. I then exit from Mail only to then find when I open it back up again the two SMTP servers I deleted reappeared. I remove then, click ok, choose iCloud as my outgoing account and everything starts working ok. I open up Preferences, click on server settings and then on 'Outgoing mail account' then click on 'Edit SMTP Server List' then remove two mail servers that I no longer use (I stopped using them long ago - my computer had since been fully formatted and macOS reinstalled. I try to send a email but it says it cannot be sent. I'm running macOS 11.4 (20F71) - I use iCloud for my mail provider.
